8th Grade Recognition

I wrote most of this post back in June and never got around to posting it. Oops! I figure I probably should share before I start high school next month!

Woohooo I’m officially a high schooler! No more middle school!! I can’t even explain how ecstatic I am to be out of that prison. See ya never!

Graduation was on Monday and the last day was on Tuesday. My school has a whole ceremony and banquet- the whole shabang.

My dress is one that I bought at TJ Maxx about 5 years ago – for $3! It was always too big, but when I tried it on this time it fit perfect!

We took lots of pictures and had a dinner. I seriously ate so. much. pizza. My belly had no feeling.

I gave a speech. This is something I never imagined I would do. It was actually more of a poem since it rhymed. It talked about the memories of middle school and what to expect in high school. Everyone told me I did great, and it was really fun writing it!

Then we had a dance for a few hours. No one really danced, but we took lots of pictures. And you know what? I had fun!

I really hope I have a good time in high school and enjoy it. It’s my last 4 years of living at home and not having to worry about things. Let’s just hope I remember that!

Do you remember your middle school graduation? What about high school?

A Busy Saturday

I felt like I was just going nonstop all day yesterday. Woke up from my friend’s at 7:30. What two 14 year old’s wake up that early?! We are definitely not normal. I didn’t even stress about what we were having for breakfast. I just let it happen. Her mom was making bacon and potatoes, literally the only 2 breakfast foods I don’t eat haha. I had a bowl of cereal and some French toast they had in the fridge. It was hard not having my typical green smoothie, but I survived!

I had to leave pretty early to get to Tractor Supply at 9, where I was volunteering. It was pretty boring, but I made some money for my Washington DC trip so it’s all good. That was until 3 so it took up quite a chunk of my day. I learned how to grill!

We didn’t just sit there the whole time, that would’ve been miserable. It was the day where you’re allowed to demo things they sell so of course I had to try out a mini bike.

Photo2 (17)

There was also a guy who made wood carvings with a chain saw. It was so cool. That takes some serious talent.

Photo2 (16)

Lunch break! I went to Bobaloons (again) and got a turkey pita. Not a fan of the mustard, but otherwise yum! And a scone of course.

Photo3 (6)

When I got home I went for an easy 3 mile run. I was perfectly happy. It was beautiful outside, I wanted to keep going forever. It was just amazing.

Volunteered again at a community dinner. Had to wear light shirt and dark pants.

Home, cereal, went to bed. I was so exhausted. In bed at 10 on Saturday night. It felt awesome.

What was the most interesting part of your Saturday?

A Marvelous Ending

Am I really….. done?! No more basketball??? Well, for two weeks until open gym starts 😉

I know, we still have high school ball. But this was the last travel tournament and last time this exact team will ever play together. Next year we’ll be split up on Varsity, JV, and Freshmen. And how cool that it was in our home gym, the first time we’ve ever hosted a tournament!

The night before the tournament (Saturday) we went to a benefit for a little girl with leukemia 😦 and so I could load up on my carbs. Spaghetti FTW!

I love eating so much. The coleslaw was amazing! The desserts honestly were disgusting.

We had games at 10, 2, and 6. I love eating a good breakfast to keep me going!

Kashi Cinnamon Harvest, banana nut cheerios, Greek yogurt, nutella, almond milk

I also had a leftover piece of the Oatmeal Bake. Yum! And a banana after the first game.

We didn’t disappoint the home crowd. We went 3-0 to seal the championship!

Sadly, the last game I wanted to puke and cry because I ate way too many sweets. It’s not like I even ate that much, my body is just so not used to it. The concession had a bunch of baked goods to get rid of and they were way too good a deal for me to pass up. 2 for a quarter, I mean come on!

Pumpkin bread, banana bread, “energy bar”

They were these little mini loaves and so cute! The “energy bars” had oatmeal, peanut butter, coconut, sunflower seeds and chocolate chips. These weren’t the most unhealthy things I could’ve chose. I didn’t pick cupcakes or cookies!

I went for a 6 mile run after to feel better, and since it was my long running day for training. I had to stop at Mcdonald’s and pee, hahaha. I was feeling better after. I took a shower and went to bed! I was exhausted!

family pic… do you think my arms are super awkward?

friend ‘Tasi’

It’s just the beginning of basketball. I’ve got a long road ahead!

How were your weekends?

I just realized I have a stats test tomorrow for the first grade of the marking period.. wish me luck!

Team Dinners

Last night was really fun! Since it’s our last tournament EVER tomorrow we had a team dinner at my house. First I’ll tell you my other meals yesterday. I ate well!

photo 1 (20)

I attempted to make sunny side up eggs but I suck at making eggs. I ended up having an egg sandwich! And a banana.

Call me crazy, but I think school lunches are delicious. Thank you Michelle Obama for making them healthier. I ended up not bringing the leftover rollups and had hot lunch.

photo 2 (23)

You get so much! Buttered noodles, salad, green beans, banana, and milk. I wish I had more time to eat it, I’m always so rushed!

We had a practice after school then went to my house for tacos!

Image (1)

Yum yum yum. I couldn’t have a taco because I can’t eat meat on Fridays, so I made a delicious salad!

Photo1 (1)

Multigrain chips, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, black beans, and salsa. I had seconds! I ended up having about three of my step mom’s scotcheroos because hey, it’s the weekend and I hardly ever have sweets! So. Good.

photo 1 (21)

Then we went downstairs and played Just Dance which is so fun. I don’t know why I hardly ever play it!

After the dinner we all went to a friend’s birthday party! There was lots more food but I didn’t eat any junk. It doesn’t even look good to me!

photo 2 (24)

I did have a cookie though. They’re her mom’s specialty and delish!

I got hungry a little later and didn’t want any of that food, so since I’m practically family over there I went in the fridge and got a Greek yogurt. Mixed with cocoa powder and peanut butter, YUM!

photo 4 (18)

A few of us made a “Harlem Shake” video. I finally know what it is! I kept hearing about it but didn’t know. Stupid… but fun! I’ll post the video when my friend sends it!

I didn’t go to bed that late, 12:30-1. Nothing compared to the others! I was up by 8 this morning and felt good. It’s been a long time since we all had a sleepover!

How often do you get together with friends?

Omg… just saw a commercial for Carrabba’s. Pasta Seconds? Don’t mind if I do!

Now I just have to find the nearest… 244 miles. Ugh. #smalltownprobs

Special recipe coming soon! 😀
