Self Hosted!

Hey everyone! So, I made the switch and I am now self hosted! Head on over to and follow so you’ll keep getting my posts! 😀

My own happiness

Yesterday was just a really good day. This was one of the first days in a long while that I didn’t plan any of my meals. I just let them happen as they came!

Breakfast was some waffles with peanut butter, greek yogurt, strawberries, and bananas. And a hb egg.

like the barbie plate?

I only had a half day of school so I got to go home at lunch! I was going to go for a quick bike ride, but right as I left I ran into my cousin who was on a run. #smalltownthings! I rode along with her for the 3 miles- it’s taper week. The half marathon is this weekend!

When I got home I was pretty hungry for some lunch. It was absolutely beautiful outside so I had a one man picnic!

Turkey sandwich, carrots and hummus, oranges, and cookies. All eaten while watching the Tigers game outside. Pure bliss! I found out later that it was national chocolate chip cookie day. Good thing I ate 4. No shame.

There was also a lot of cuddling with the babies.

That little stinker brought home a bird. I picked it up and put it on the trampoline so I could help/examine it. It’s poor foot was broken and it kept going lopsided. I checked on it a few minutes later, tried to stand it up, and what does it do? As my face is not a foot from it, it spazzes and flies away! I’d like to think that I saved its life 🙂

Then I had track practice. For my meet today I’m scheduled for shotput and disc. I had never thrown a disc in my life. Welll, I picked it up pretty quick and I think I’ll do quite well! Oh yeah, another girl and I also wanted to see if we could still do a back tuck. We can!

When I got home I had half an hour until softball. Not enough time for a real dinner. I had some carrots, a hb egg, and a cookie. This is kind of important because I was really worried about what I’d eat and if I’d even be hungry but I just let it happen and I survived. It’s a big deal to me.

Softball wasn’t as bad as it normally is. It’s not that it’s hard, it’s just so boring. I felt sooo dirty after. Shower immediately.

I was kind of hungry after which calls for dessert. No one should ever go a day without dessert. Heated apple muffin with vanilla ice cream. Wonderful.

After this I was so.tired. I slept well last night.

The weather just makes me so happy. Now I’m off to my track meet- wish me luck. I might break the school record!

Smile, tomorrow’s Friday 😀

Run for Boston

I did it. I organized a Run for Boston.

When I heard about the tragedy I knew I wanted to help. Being such a new member of the running community I was so inspired with how much everyone was affected and how much they helped. I wanted to be a part of it too.

I told my mom I wanted to organize a run to raise money for the victims and she thought I was crazy. “Do you know how much work a race is?” But I knew this was really something I wanted to do. I called lots of people and started planning for it. I designed t-shirts, ordered bibs, and got sponsors. I even got a local runner who ran in the marathon to come!

The 5k went wonderful and drew 105 runners and walkers, even though the conditions weren’t great- it rained on and off. The best part… we raised over $2,000! The money will go to the One Fund Boston charity.

I was absolutely not expecting the run to become this big but it just shows how great the community is! I am really proud.

I had a really fun time putting this together and I think I will organize another race sometime. I’m so happy that I could help the victims of the tragic event!

A track meet and the funniest video you will EVER see.

Just stopping by for a quick check in. I had my first track meet today! I was originally scheduled for the 2 mile, 800, and 200 hurdles buut it changed a tad bit.

I had this super yummy dinner last night for some night-before carbs. Recipe here.

I love the night before races because it’s an excuse to eat pasta.

First of all, of course it was the windiest day we’ve had all year. Makes for a great track meet.

The two mile is the first event in middle school track (very stupid) so I was first to go. I was really hoping to get a gold but when I got there I saw my cross country rival. Ugh. She would normally beat me by less than 30 seconds.

The whole race was suuper tight. I even had the lead at some points. She did have the inside though so on the last straightaway she started going. I ended up losing by less than a second. It sucks, but it shows how much I’ve improved! I didn’t get an official time, but I’m pretty sure it was 12:35. The school record is 12:25 so I have a feeling it might be broken. Especially on a not windy day.

i needed to be lazy right after and eat my chews

My next event was the 800. Last year, this was my event. Undefeated. Not to be broken this year. I won, my time was 2:50. That needs to improve.. it was super windy though!

So the change… I did shotput! I’ve never done it before (like even practiced) but I thought I’d try it. I ended up getting 25’4″, good for 5th place! I think I’m going to stick with it. It was actually kind of fun! I do have some nice arm muscle 😉

Okay. This is the best video you will ever see. Please watch it.

It is impossible to watch just once. Whenever I’m feeling sad, I watch this. Never fails to make me cry of laughter. Poor girl.

Hahahahaha it is so great.

Have a super Friday!
